Beer Festival

Sat, 18 Sep 2021

On the Saturday the festival will commence at 1pm in the village hall and neighbouring meadow. The entertainment will include live bands, fairground rides, zorbs, bouncy castle, model aeroplanes and stalls. In addition there will obviously be the usual fine array of beer and cider, as well as a gin bar and vodka cocktails from our local vodka distillery in Weldon. Non-alcoholic beverages and a big BBQ will also be available to make sure that everyone can stay suitably refreshed. We have a fantastic rockabilly band HOT ROD 55 playing in the evening and no ticket is required so if you missed Friday why not make a night of it on Saturday. This year we are aiming to go cashless where possible, This makes it easier for all users, but we will still be taking cash where necessary. The Jordan 's Weeones with Jane Steward will be running a Horticultural Show with a variety of classes in a marquee on the Meadow,. So if you have grown any perfectly -formed produce or conversely some large and/or oddly shaped vegetables, please make sure you get these entered. See the advert elsewhere in the Newsletter. All money raised form the event goes back to local charities. This year the main charity that we are supporting is the local Riding for the Disabled who urgently need funds to continue. They will be present on the day, so go talk and see how you could help them. Helping run the event is a lot of fun, so if anybody would like to become involved please contact Justin Mumford on (07977) 560198. If you haven 't already got a ticket for the comedy night, then volunteering to help over the week -end might be a solution.
